In response to the development of the COVID-19 pandemic in the past weeks, i.e.:
The archipelago has registered a considerable increase in cases over the last week, mainly on the island of Gran Canaria. The increases motivated the Canarian Government to announce further restrictions, following an extraordinary Governing Council on August 13, with new limits on nightlife, reducing all group meetings to a maximum 10 people, and making masks mandatory both out in public and in enclosed spaces, as well as limiting smoking on public roads whenever a minimum 2m distance is not guaranteed.
New lockdown restrictions could soon be imposed in some Spanish tourist resorts with coronavirus infections continuing to rise in many areas of the country.
Certain countries have established restrictions or quarantine periods on people arriving from Spain
Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office currently advises against all non-essential travel to Spain, including the Canary Islands
The significant number of requests from our owners to bank their October 2020 weeks and/or cancel their bookings with Bahia Blanca
We feel we have to make the decision of delaying the opening date of the resort to November 2020.
As before please note that:
Members who own weeks between 1st October 2020 and 1 April 2021 and do not wish to visit Bahia Blanca within that time can bank their week/s. They must give at least 4 weeks’ notice.
Future internal exchange visits using those banked weeks will be subject to availability, as before.
Members cannot use a banked week to visit the resort between 1 October 2020 and 1 April 2021.
Internal exchange bookings agreed in writing made before the notification from the Committee will be honoured.
If the resort is open and an owner has a booking that for any reason, they do not keep – i.e. cancelled flights, last minute change of plans etc, will lose their week.
As we want you to feel safe when you come back, our commitment is the security and wellbeing of all our guest and team, we are working to have some security and hygiene measures that will be updated accordingly. We will have an internal safety and hygiene committee that will ensure we comply with the COVID -19 prevention protocols. All our employees will receive continuous training on the new safety and hygiene protocols created by Bahia Blanca for the prevention of viral infectious diseases, especially COVID -19
Throughout this difficult time, we would like to thank you all for your continued support and send wishes of good health. We look forward to opening our doors to you again and welcoming you back!
